Every day, millions of women and children in Central America venture out to collect firewood for cooking. In fact, 7 million people in this region are living without any access to electricity. Worldwide, more than 1.5 billion people have no electricity.

This rampant energy poverty has many negative consequences that effect all aspects of life: environmental, social, economic, and human health.
