Trees, Water & People was selected from a nation-wide pool of nonprofit organizations as the beneficiary of Whole Foods Market’s “Change for Change” program at their Bellevue, Washington store, raising more than $11,000!
Over the past year, Whole Foods Market organic fair trade coffee customers have generously dropped spare change into a jar with awareness that their small contributions would make a difference for both people and the planet.
The funds raised will be used to support Trees, Water & People’s ongoing reforestation, watershed protection, renewable energy, appropriate technology, and environmental education programs throughout Latin America, the American West, and Northern Colorado.
Whole Foods Market, a leader in environmentally sustainable practices, created the “Change for Change” program as a way to emphasize the importance of making change matter in a time when change can happen.
Together, Whole Foods Market and Trees, Water & People believe that companies, like individuals, must assume their share of responsibility as tenants of Planet Earth.
Trees, Water & People would like to thank Whole Foods Market for their generosity and support. Because of your consideration, we can continue working towards helping the planet and the people we love!

Renew the Rockies is TWP’s largest annual fundraising event. It’s a blast! Every spring we host a great night of fun casino-style gambling, fantastic silent and live auction items, local refreshments, free Odell beer, and live music and dancing to The Atoll. This year, guests are encouraged to dress up in “futuristic” costumes to add to the fun (think spacemen, aliens, The Jetsons, etc. — be creative)!
All proceeds will benefit our local Clean energy Program and help to install a 10kW photovoltaic solar electric system at Kinard Junior High School.
So, set your time machine to March 7, 2009 and join us at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins for Renew the Rockies-The Future is Clean Energy. Tickets are $30 in advance and available for purchase online at www.treeswaterpeople.org or by phone at (970) 484-3678. You can also buy tickets at the door for $35.
If you would like to donate an item or service to the Renew the Rockies silent or live auctions, please contact Heather at (970) 484-3678 or heather@treeswaterpeople.org.
Your support of this popular zero waste event sends a strong message about your commitment to renewable energy and enhancing the quality of life in our Northern Colorado community!
